Multicolor Creations: from Hand-Carved Art to Eco-Friendly DTG

Every design I create for Hippie Baby Co begins slowly and intentionally by hand. I first draw the design, then carefully carve it into a printing block. This traditional process takes time and a deep connection to the art itself. It’s a hands-on process that allows each design to grow organically before it ever reaches fabric.

For my Color Edition shirts, I take that original block-carved artwork a step further. I transform the block-printed design into a digital file, refining it so I can add colors while keeping the spirit of the original hand-carved art. This allows me to add multiple colors to the designs while still honoring the slow, creative process that started it all.

Then comes DTG (Direct-to-Garment) printing, which brings the design to life on the shirt. DTG is a way to print directly onto fabric using specialized, water-based inks and printer. Unlike traditional screen printing, DTG lets me create full-color, detailed prints without heavy layers of ink or plastic. The ink soaks into the fibers of the garment, making the print soft, durable, and gentle on the skin. It’s also eco-friendly, using nontoxic inks and producing almost no waste, so I can share colorful, original art while staying mindful of the planet.

Every piece I create is part of my ongoing creative journey, and I’m grateful that by wearing these designs, you help me share positive messages and love for Mother Earth with the world.
